WSTS predicts that the semiconductor market will grow by 16% year-on-year, reaching $611 billion in 2024.
It is expected that in 2024, two IC categories will drive annual growth, achieving double-digit growth, with the logic category growing by 10.7% and the memory category growing by 76.8%.
Conversely, other categories such as discrete devices, optoelectronics, sensors, and analog semiconductors are expected to experience single-digit declines.
Significant growth is expected in the Americas and the Asia-Pacific region, with increases of 25.1% and 17.5% respectively. In contrast, Europe is expected to experience a slight increase of 0.5%, while Japan is expected to see a modest decrease of 1.1%. Looking ahead to 2025, WSTS predicts that the global semiconductor market will grow by 12.5%, reaching a valuation of $687 billion.
This growth is expected to be primarily driven by the memory and logic sectors, with both sectors expected to soar to over $200 billion in 2025, representing a growth rate of over 25% for the memory sector and over 10% for the logic sector compared to the previous year. It is anticipated that all other sectors will achieve single-digit growth rates.
In 2025, all regions are expected to continue expanding, with the Americas and the Asia-Pacific region projected to maintain double-digit year-on-year growth.
