Pin receptacles are individual component lead sockets primarily used for the plugging and unplugging of components on PC boards. Pin receptacles are made by press-fitting a pre-tooled “multi-finger” contact into a precision machined shell. Machined pin receptacles are fitted with an internal beryllium copper contact. Ideal for mounting sensors, diodes, LED’s, IC’s & other circuit board components.
Problem:
Our customer was looking to a suitable carrier tape solution for a pin receptacle part to their customer with shorter lead time, only half the normal time. And the customer can’t provide us more information for the part, only the component model and approximate size. In this case, the tool drawing need to be finished and provided on the same day. Time is urgent.
Solution:
Sinho’s R&D team are specialist enough, search and integrate relevant data of the pin receptacles. This part is larger at the top and bottom is small, and we used a custom-designed 12 mm embossed carrier tape, allowing the part to sit snugly in the pocket with minimal lateral movement. Finally, the drawing is approved by the customer in time, and enable the end user to purchase components in standard packaging ready for insertion into their production equipment. The production now runs high volume.
