The vacuum hole in carrier tape is used for automated component packaging processes, specifically during pick and place operations. The vacuum is applied through the hole to hold and lift the components from the tape, allowing them to be accurately placed onto circuit boards or other assembly surfaces. This automated handling method increases efficiency and reduces the risk of component damage during the assembly process.
Problem:
Carrier tape Ao dimension is only 1.25mm, can’t punch standard 1.50mm vacuum hole, but a vacuum hole is necessary for customer machine to detect components.
Solution:
SINHO used a special punching die with a diameter of 1.0mm that we had available and applied it to this carrier tape. However, even for 1.25mm, the punching technique using a 1.0mm die requires high precision. Single side leaves only 0.125mm based on Ao 1.25mm, any slight mishap could damage the cavity and render it unusable. Sinho 's technical team had overcame the challenges and successfully produced the carrier tape with vacuum hole to meet customer production request.
